Flotilla commander 2008

Welcome to the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary website for Lake Mead.  The members of Flotilla 11SR97 are committed to assisting the boating public in their safe enjoyment of Lake Mead.  To that end we regularly provide boating safety classes for new boaters, teach water safety to school children, and we will provide advanced training classes for experienced boaters.  We encourage both individuals and organizations that have an interest in learning about boating safety to contact us about classes.

In addition, you are invited to contact us to obtain a free boating safety examination to insure your boat meets both federal and state safety standards.  Remember, while on the lake always wear your life jacket. If you are ever in need of assistance you are welcome to contact us or the Park Service via marine channel 16.  While I cannot promise an auxilarist will always be available to assist you because all auxiliary members are volunteers who donate their time, skills and boats.  I can assure you that if we are available we will help you out on the lake without charge.

Finally, I encourage anyone interested in learning more about how they can join and volunteer with the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary to contact us.  New members are always welcome and activities include lake safety patrols, vessel safety checks, public education, member training and multiple fellowship opportunities.  All training is provide to members free of charge by the U.S. Coast Guard.

For our Public Education Schedule and Contacts please visit our Public Education page.

We hope to hear from you soon.
